Get financial advice and help, ask any questions about your pension & meet the Stop Loan Sharks team
The team from MAPS “help people – particularly those most in need – to improve their financial wellbeing and build a better, more confident future. Working collaboratively across the UK, they make sure customers can access high-quality money and pensions guidance and debt advice throughout their lives, how and when they need it.” – they’ll be available to answer any questions you might have on:
The IMLT “investigates and prosecutes illegal money lenders while supporting those who have borrowed money from a loan shark. Illegal Money Lending Teams in Scotland and Wales ensure the entire UK is working to stop loan sharks.
Each team is comprised of specialist investigators and Liaise Officers who have previously worked for the police, trading standards, and debt advice services. Together the investigators and Liaise Officers work to prosecute illegal money lenders while supporting people who owe money to a loan shark.
The England IMLT works as Stop Loan Sharks within local communities, within education, and with partner agencies including the police. Since 2004, the England IMLT has supported over 31,100 people and written off over £91.2 million worth of illegal debt.”
Clockwise is one of the UK’s most exciting, dynamic and fast growing financial co-operatives that is just for the people of Leicester, Leicestershire, Coventry, Warwickshire, Rutland and Northamptonshire. As a not-for-profit organisation we can pass on the savings to our members by providing affordable loans, safe savings and ethical financial products and services. This means that your share contributes to keeping money within the local community.
Credit Unions can consider all loan applications from people in our communities, regardless of background, including those who are in receipt of benefits. A credit Union is also a not-for-profit organisation, our focus is on improving the financial well-being of our members and helping the local community.
This event is part of UK Savings Week.
9 – 15 September. The BSA launched UKSW in 2022 in the midst of a cost-of-living crisis, when people had to pay attention to their finances more than ever before. The campaign has grown year on year and partners with a large variety of organisations to spread the message.
