Clockwise was able to award Zinthiya Trust a Community Grant to help them offer emergency accommodation for women fleeing abuse. The Zinthiya Trust work to alleviate poverty and abuse in Leicester and Leicestershire.
They are currently raising funding to provide emergency accommodation for women and girls who are fleeing abuse and have no recourse to public funding. “This grant highlights the vital role that community support plays in addressing pressing local issues. As many face economic uncertainty, Zinthiya Trust remains committed to offering essential services such as emergency shelter, financial advice, and support to those most in need.
Zinthiya Trust aims to provide not only shelter but also wraparound support services, ensuring that those who seek help can access pathways to stability and a brighter future. As a Leicester-based charity dedicated to alleviating poverty and homelessness, the Zinthiya Trust has seen firsthand the difference that timely intervention and community generosity can make.”
Zinthiya Trust has just opened No 8 ladies gift shop found on Bishop Street Leicester next to Zinthiya Trust offices where help and financial advice is available . The items creatively made, many by local ladies, support the work that Zinthiya Trust offers to support women fleeing abuse.

“Our Community Grant Scheme is just one of the ways we give back.”
When you save or borrow with Clockwise your money is invested back into the community. Clockwise operates a Community Grant Scheme that awards local groups and individuals grants for a whole range of items that ultimately benefit the community the group and individual works to serve.
Under the scheme, any community group or individual in need of funds can apply in writing to us for a grant. To apply, the group or individual should be based in Leicester, Leicestershire, Rutland, Northamptonshire, Coventry or Warwickshire. This can be for a whole range of items; for example, a small piece of equipment for a group such as food banks, community schemes aimed at under-represented groups, scouts/guides or a youth club or a laptop for a low income student. See below for examples of groups we have supported.
